Jia Curated Kiosks 03
Event Overview
Jia Curated Kiosks is a long immersive weekend of craft, design & culture aiming to creatively connect communities.
The third edition is scheduled to return in 15 - 18 August 2024, with the theme ‘In Process’.
In Process encompasses a series of actions aimed at achieving specific goals within making, thought, and design, reacting to preceding actions to facilitate transition. The diversity of individual reactions, influenced by education, backgrounds, and cultures, enriches the creative journey, fostering innovation and shaping the dynamic design landscape.
In Process not only celebrates individual and collective creative processes but also embraces the values of Gotong Royong, which are an integral part of Indonesian culture. By incorporating this value, the event becomes a platform that showcases design and craftsmanship while strengthening social bonds, emphasising collaboration, and celebrating the collective strength of the creative journey.
Arsene is proud to present ‘Narratives’.
Designed in collaboration with Studio Aliri, ‘Narratives’ celebrates the creative process that shapes our designs – from a storage unit born from material limitations, sofas shaped by cultural norms, and chairs inspired by Chinese logographs – among many others.
An overview of ‘Narratives’, with ten of our pieces as highlights of the exhibition.
Ten pieces from our collection took the spotlight in this exhibition – a compilation of pieces from both our capsule collection, as well as our newest releases from 2024. Additional props were also designed as storytelling tools – all of which are integrated to the design of the exhibition.
Hippo Lounge Chair takes centre stage.

Melt Lounge Chair, complemented by a melting sheet of weaving.
In keeping up with our sustainability commitments, most of the components used in making this booth have been either rented, or repurposed. The booth’s main structure consisting of rented scaffolding feels appropriate given the theme of the event, as well as being a symbolic gesture as Arsene builds up its presence in the industry.
Also, the scaffolding sits on a modular system of walls, partitions, and floors, developed in house for our showroom displays – infinitely reconfigurable, of course.
