Despite looking intricate at first, the shape is quite simplistic in nature once deconstructed.

The piece features a universal half-rounded edge alongside the perimeter of the piece, converging into a full rounded profile where the backrest and armrest meets.

This allows the two parts to be easily joined, while eliminating the necessity to use more complex tooling for manufacture.
